Proje Özeti

This research will provide a breakdown of contemporary art interactions between Germany and Türkiye from the 2000s to the present and examine the reflections of these events on social, political and cultural conditions. Within this scope, contemporary art exhibitions organized by cultural institutions of both countries, artist/curator/art critic residency programs, inclusion of artists’ works in important collections, individual communication networks and collaborations established by art critics, curators and other art experts over more than twenty years will be discussed. In this context, research will be conducted in various libraries, archives, museums and private collections in Germany; comprehensive periodical publication survey will be conducted, sources from different disciplines will be examined for theoretical and conceptual frameworks, and semi-structured interviews will be conducted with artists, curators and museum directors related to the research topic. All written-digital-audiovisual materials and documents obtained and the data acquired from the semi-structured interviews will be evaluated within a conceptual framework by correlating them with the historical and cultural background of the period.
