Etkinlikler, turizm faaliyetleri için önemli bir çekicilik unsuru ve bölgesel kalkınmanın önemli bir aracı olarak görülmektedir. Bununla birlikte, düzenlendiği bölgeyi sosyo-ekonomik açıdan hem olumlu hem de olumsuz yönde etkileyebilmektedir. Bu bağlamda çalışmanın amacı etkinliklerle beraber ortaya çıkan sosyo-ekonomik etkilerin bölge halkının turizme desteği üzerinde bir etkisi olup olmadığını araştırmaktır. Araştırma, bölgede faaliyet gösteren turizm yöneticilerinin daha iyi planlama yapabilmesi ve turizmin gelişimine katkı sağlaması açısından önem arz etmektedir. Çalışma, nicel araştırma yöntemiyle yürütülmüştür. Araştırma verileri anket formu aracılığıyla Bafra’da yaşayan yerel halktan toplanmıştır. Analizler, kolayda örnekleme yöntemiyle toplanan 305 geçerli anket verisi üzerinden gerçekleşmiştir. Araştırmanın sonuçlarına göre etkinliklerin sosyo-ekonomik etkileri ile yerel halkın turizme desteği arasında anlamlı bir ilişki bulunmaktadır. Buna ek olarak, araştırmada etkinliklerle beraber ortaya çıkan sosyo-ekonomik etkilerin, bölge halkının turizme desteği üzerinde anlamlı ve pozitif yönde bir etkisi olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Araştırmayla birlikte ortaya çıkan sonuçlar doğrultusunda hem alandaki araştırmacılara hem de yereldeki paydaşlara çeşitli önerilerde bulunulmuştur.
Events are seen as an important element of attractiveness in tourism and an important tool in regional development. On the other hand, events can affect the region where they are held in a positive or negative way in socio-economic terms. The aim of this study is to investigate whether the socio-economic effects that occur with the activities have an effect on residents’ tourism support. The research is important for regional tourism managers to make better planning and to contribute to the development of tourism. The study was conducted with quantitative research method. Research data was collected from local people living in Bafra through a survey form. Analyzes were carried out on 305 valid survey data collected by convenience sampling method. According to the results of the research, there is a strong relationship between the socio-economic effects of the events and the tourism support of the local resident. In addition, it was concluded in the research that the socio-economic effects that emerged with the activities had a significant and positive effect on the tourism support of the people in the region.
