The title compound, C(14)H(12)INO, adopts the phenol-imine tautomeric form. The dihedral angle between the aromatic rings is 20.6 (3)degrees. The molecular conformation is stabilized by an intramolecular O-H center dot center dot center dot N hydrogen bond while in the crystal, weak intermolecular C-H center dot center dot center dot O hydrogen bonds link the molecules into a zigzag chain parallel to the b axis.
