A RESEARCH ON
PROPAGATION OF SOME IMPORTANT HAZELNUT VARIETIES BY GRAFTING
The
aim of this research was to investigate the propagatibility of some important
hazelnut varieties by grafting. The grafts were performed in three different
periods as November 11, December 2, and December 23 in 1987. The graft success
rates determined in Tombul, Palaz and Sivri hazelnut varieties at the end of
the callusing period were determined as; 62.50 %, 72.50 %, 58.75 % at end of
the First Time period, 75.00 %, 90.00 %, 72.50 % at Second Time Period, and
91.20 %, 93.75 %, 97.50 % at the Third Time Period. The sprouting after the callusing
time, and the shoot formation and surviving positions at the nursery parcels
for the varieties used in this research were different in all of the time
periods; it was seen that the results obtained at the nursery parcels were less
successful from the results obtained at the end of the callusing period.
