Abstract

The effect of raw and cation exchanged bentonite (CEB) samples on the aggregation of a cresol based dye, bromocresol green, was studied by spectrophotometric method. The changes in the absorption spectra were explained in terms of the layer charge of the clay surfaces which controls the stability of the dye aggregates. (c) 2005 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
