Abstract

The title compound, C15H12N2O4, contains a nearly planar four-membered beta-lactam ring, making dihedral angles of 67.01 (13) and 75.21 (11)degrees with the phenyl and the benzene rings, respectively. A single N-H center dot center dot center dot O hydrogen bond links molecules into centrosymmetric dimers.
