The title compound, C8H8N2OS, is stabilized by intermolecular N-H center dot center dot center dot O and N-H center dot center dot center dot S hydrogen bonds and by pi-pi interactions. The hydrogen bonds generate a two-dimensional network with edge-fused centrosymmetric [R-2(2)(8) R-4(4)(20) R-2(2)(8)] motifs, and these networks are connected by the pi-pi interactions. These pi-pi interactions occur between the homoaromatic rings of the molecules at ( x; y; z) and ( 1-x; 1-y; 1-z); the centroid-centroid distance is 3.658 (1) angstrom and the plane-plane separation is 3.321 angstrom. The molecule is approximately planar, with a dihedral angle of 1.58 (13)degrees between the two rings.
