Abstract

A new 1,2,4-triazole derivative, 3-phenyl-5-p-tolyl-4-(3,4,5-trimetoxybenzilideneamino)-4H-1,2,4-triazole, C25H24N4O3 (1), has been prepared by the reaction of 4-amino3-phenyl-5-p-tblyl-4H-1,2,4-triazole and 3,4,5-trimetoxybenzaldehyde and structurally characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction. Compound (1) crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P2(1)/c with a = 12,4336(11), b = 12.5860(11), c = 14.3944(14)angstrom, beta = 94.417(7)degrees, Z = 4, V = 1.267 angstrom(3); In the solid state, the molecules of (1) are discrete and not planar, comprising a twisted four-ring system. The molecules are held together with van der Waal's interactions. (c) 2006 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim.
