Abstract

This paper proposes a new design for a four-port microstrip MIMO antenna that resonates at the frequency of 28 GHz. The proposed antenna consists of four elements that are etched into a 0.8 mm thick FR-4 substrate with a 15×15 mm overall dimension, and the substrate permittivity is 4.4. The antenna operates from 26.9 GHz to 30 GHz and has a bandwidth of 3.1 GHz. The envelope correlation coefficient value of the antenna is less than 0.000001, which is much lower than previous research values; also, the diversity gain of the antenna is 10, which also surpasses many other suggestions regarding antennas.
