In the title compound, C34H28O6 center dot 0.5C(7)H(8), the calix[4]arene molecule forms a cone-like conformation, stabilized by intramolecular O-H center dot center dot center dot O hydrogen bonds. In the crystal structure, the calixarene molecules form centrosymmetric dimers via aromatic pi-pi interactions [centroid separation = 3.633 (3) angstrom]. The toluene solvent molecule is disordered about an inversion centre.
