As is well known Christianity is a missionary religion with regard to its nature. Because of this feature man and women all Christians have worked very hard to spread their faith all over the world from the beginning of Christianity. However, when we look at the sources which deal with how Christianity has spread all over the world or the works which deal with the history of Christian mission we can see that the place and function of women missionaries has been underestimated up to the second half of the twentieth century. But it is quite possible to argue that women have contributed a lot to the extension of Christianity by having very critique responsibilities from the beginning of Christianity onwards. In this article we examine the place of women missionaries in the process of expansion of Christianity and their missionary activities.
