Abstract

Akalan Citadel (Samsun/Turkey) having its earliest traces of habitation dating to the Early Bronze Age, seems to have been an important settlement during the Orientalising period. This is understood from the South Ionian Wild Goat style pottery finds as well as roof tiles and decorated architectural terracottas from this period.
This work aims to introduce the recent decorated architectural terracottas dated to the Orientalising period as well as to construct on the east-west interaction within this period.
