Özet

Lesser wax moth, Achroia grisella(Fabr.) (Lepidoptera: Pyralidae), is a pest species causing serious damages beehives and threatens the well-being of the honey bee population. The influence of lithium (Li) on protein, lipid and carbohydrate level of A. grisella larvae was investigated. Three different concentrations (125, 250 and 500 mg/kg) of lithium were added to the synthetic diet of pest species. In the control group the insects fed on lithium- free diet containing honeycomb (200 g), bran (860 g), glycerol (300 ml), honey (150 ml) and distilled water (150 ml). All of the insects were reared at 25 ± 2 °C temperature, 60 ± 5 % relative humidity and 16L:8D photoperiod conditions. Late instar larvae of A. grisella were used for biochemical analysis. Treatment with lithium decreased the protein levels of larvae at 125 and 500 mg/kg concentrations. Lipid levels of larvae considerably increased at 125 and 500 mg/kg lithium concentrations, whereas lithium treatment did not cause any significant difference in carbohydrate level of larvae.
