Mehmet Eren, görev yaptığı yerlerde dini hayatın Ģekillenmesi bağlamında, Ġmam Hatip Liselerinin açılmasına, Kur‟ân Kursları‟nın geliĢimine ve çok sayıda hafızın yetiĢmesine öncülük eden Ģahsiyetlerden biridir. Bu makalede, “Asker Hafız Ekolü”‟nün öncüsü olan Mehmet Eren‟in hayatı, Kur‟ân alanında yaptığı hizmetler ve Kur‟ânî eğitim metodu incelenecektir. ÇalıĢmanın amacı Osmanlı bakiyesi bir Kur‟ân üstadının Kur‟ân eğitim metodunun akademik nitelikli bir çalıĢma sayesinde kaybolmasının önüne geçilerek ileriki nesillerin istifadesine sunulmasıdır. Bu çalıĢma, Kur‟ân eğitim ve öğretiminin hangi zor Ģartlar altında devam ettirildiğinin ve günümüze kadar bu uğurda hangi fedakârlıkların yapıldığının da tarihi izlerini taĢımaktadır. Ayrıca geleceğin Kur‟ân neslinin bu anlamlı mücadeleden haberdar edilmesi hususunda çalıĢmanın sonuçları dikkate değer bir önem taĢımaktadır.
Mehmet Eren is one of the prominent figures who has pioneered the establishment of Imam Hatip Schools, the development of Qur'an courses in the region, and the training of numerous hafizes (those who have memorized the Qur'an) in the context of shaping religious life in the places where he served. In this article, the life, service to the Qur'an, and fundamental characteristics of Mehmet Eren's recitation style, considered a pioneer of the "Soldier Hafiz Tradition", will be discussed and examined. The aim of the study is to prevent the disappearance of the educational method of a Qur'an master from the Ottoman legacy through an academically qualified study and to make it available for the benefit of future generations. This study carries the historical traces of under what difficult conditions Qur'an education and instruction have been continued and the sacrifices made for this cause up to the present day. Moreover, the results of the study hold significant importance in informing the future generation of Qur'an about this meaningful struggle.
