Özet

This study aims to examine in depth the factors that prevent individuals who have experienced divorce but have not received psychological support from seeking help. Using the phenomenological design from qualitative research methods, data were collected through face-to-face interviews with 10 participants selected by purposive sampling using a semi-structured interview technique. The thematic analysis of the interview data revealed that the factors hindering help-seeking behavior could be grouped under five main themes: level of knowledge and awareness, psychological factors, social and cultural factors, economic factors, and access and structural barriers. The research findings revealed that lack of knowledge about the psychological help process, fear of stigmatization, burnout, high session fees, difficulties in making appointments, and time constraints emerged as key barriers to seeking psychological support. Consequently, it was emphasized that informative psychoeducation programs should be disseminated and structural barriers to accessing mental health services should be removed to facilitate the post-divorce adjustment process.
