Abstract
Metal-free and metallo-phthalocyanines (M = Cu, Ni, Co, Zn) carrying four N-(n-octyl)mercapto acetamide group on peripheral positions have been synthesized from the corresponding phthalonitrile derivatives in the presence or the absence of anhydrous metal salt (CuCl, NiCl2 , CoCl2 , Zn(CH3COO)(2)). The novel compounds have been characterized by elemental analyses, IR, NMR, and UV/VIS spectroscopy.
