Abstract

Values education is a process that supports the character development of individuals and teaches beliefs and principles that shape their attitudes and behaviors. Values education, especially for special education students, contributes to their social and emotional development. Shadow play is used as an effective value education tool for these students because it concretizes abstract concepts and develops emotional and social skills. The research was conducted on 200 students studying at the Special Education Vocational School in Ünye district of Ordu province. The data collected using the “Values Scale Survey” was analyzed with SPSS 20. The results show that shadow play can increase the awareness of disadvantaged students about values and that their positive attitudes can positively affect their academic success. This study emphasizes that shadow play is an effective method in instilling values in special education children and the importance of visual culture in value development.

Değerler eğitimi, bireylerin karakter gelişimini destekleyen ve tutumlarını, davranışlarını şekillendiren inanç ve prensipleri öğreten bir süreçtir. Özellikle özel eğitim öğrencilerine yönelik değerler eğitimi, onların sosyal ve duygusal gelişimlerine katkı sağlar. Gölge oyunu, bu öğrenciler için etkili bir değerler eğitimi aracı olarak kullanılır, çünkü soyut kavramları somutlaştırır ve duygusal ve sosyal becerileri geliştirir. Araştırma, Ordu ili Ünye ilçesindeki Özel Eğitim Meslek Okulu’nda öğrenim gören 200 öğrenci üzerinde gerçekleştirilmiştir. “Değerler Ölçek Anketi” kullanılarak toplanan veriler SPSS 20 ile analiz edilmiştir. Sonuçlar, gölge oyununun dezavantajlı öğrencilerin değerler konusundaki farkındalıklarını artırabileceğini ve olumlu tutumlar sergilemelerinin akademik başarılarını olumlu yönde etkileyebileceğini göstermektedir. Bu çalışma, özel eğitimli çocuklara değer kazandırmada gölge oyununun etkili bir yöntem olduğunu ve görsel kültürün değer gelişimindeki önemini vurgulamaktadır.
