Abstract

In this study tissue slides Irom 102 colorectal resection specimens examined between 1998-2002 in he Department cl Pathology. Faculty ol medicine. Ondokuz Mayis University were retrospectively reevaluated. E-cacterin and Ki-67 expression were demonstred immnochistochemically and relationship of E-cadheren and Ki-57 expression with differentiation. histological subtype and stage were investigated. E-cadheren expression was seen in 89 of 102 (87%) colorectal adendocarcinamas and mucincus carninomas. Twentythree cases were (+), 32 cases (++) and 34 cases (+++), ki-67 expressuib was seen in 86 cases (84%) with a mean value of 16.7%. there was a relationship betweeen E-cadherin and Ki-67 expression and tumor differentiation. However no relationship between E-cadherin and Ki-67 index with tumor stage and histological subtype was found.
