Abstract

Between June 1997 and May 1998, we surveyed the phytoplankton of Lake Akgol, a shallow Turkish lake near the Black Sea. A total of 119 taxa, most of which belonged to the Chlorophyta and Bacillariophyta, was identified. Other groups were Euglenophyta, Cyanophyta, Cryptophyta, Xanthophya, Chrysophyta and Dinophyta.
