In the molecule of the title compound, C14H9Cl2NO2, the essentially planar phthalide group is oriented at a dihedral angle of 63.23 (5)degrees with respect to the substituted aromatic ring. In the crystal structure, intermolecular C-H center dot center dot center dot O and N-H center dot center dot center dot O hydrogen bonds link the molecules, generating R-4(4)(21) ring motifs to form a three-dimensional network.
