Özet

Submarines were strategic objects in the First World War and played a crucial role in the Ottoman Navy. The U-21 submarine, a member of the German North Sea Fleet, operated at the Dardanelles and Beirut ports. In this study, the sinking of the Triumph and Majestic battleships of the British Navy and of the Admiral Charner of the French Navy by U-21 submarines have been examined in the light of German sources. These operations had a profound impact on the war and constituted the most important cooperation of the Ottoman and German navies in the First World War.
