Abstract

This study was conducted to determine species of Cixiidae and Delphacidae (Homoptera) families on maize in Aydin (Central Province, Cine, Kocarli, Soke), izmir (Bergama, Menemen) and Manisa (Muradiye, Akhisar, Salihli, Saruhanli) provinces during 2004-2005. Surveys were carried out in first and second maize crop by using sweep-net and vacuum insect collector. At the end of the study, Cixius cunicularius Linnaeus, 1767 and Hyalesthes scotti Ferrari, 1882 from Cixiidae, Chloriona clavata Dlabola, 1960, Chloriona glaucescens Fieber, 1866, Flastena fumipennis (Fieber, 1866), Leodelphax striatellus (Fallen, 1826), Muellerianella fairmairei (Perris, 1857) and Kelisia melanops Fieber, 1878 from Delphacidae were determined. C. cunicularius, C. glaucescens and M. fairmairei are the first record for Turkish fauna.
