Abstract

This study was carried out in the middle of the Black Sea Region of Turkey in 2004, 2005 and 2006 to determine the pollen quality characteristics of some chestnut genotypes. Pollen viability levels and germination rates were determined. Significant differences were found between genotypes in the pollen viability and germination. The germination rates in 2005 were generally lower than in 2004 and 2006.
