Özet

Aim: The aim of this case report was to present the clinical and radiographic outcomes of guided tissue regeneration (GTR) using a combination of allograft and collagen membrane in the treatment of an infrabony defect in the mandibular anterior region.
Material & Methods: A 49-year-old systemically healthy female patient presented with a deep periodontal pocket (10 mm) and an infrabony defect at the mesiolingual aspect of tooth #41. Guided tissue regeneration started with a sulcular incision to elevate a full-thickness flap under local anesthesia. Granulation tissue was carefully removed, and the defect was filled with allograft material. A resorbable collagen membrane was then placed, and the flap was repositioned and sutured for primary closure. Postoperative care included antibiotic and anti-inflammatory medication, and standard oral hygiene instructions were given.
Results: At the 6-month follow-up, radiographic examination showed satisfactory bone fill in the treated site. Probing depth measurements revealed a significant reduction from 10 mm to 4 mm compared to baseline, and the tooth remained non-mobile throughout the healing period.
Conclusion: This case demonstrates that the combination of a human allograft and collagen membrane in a GTR approach can lead to substantial clinical and radiographic improvement in the treatment of infrabony periodontal defects.
Disclosures: Nothing to declare.
