Purpose: In this study, it was aimed to examine the attitudes of the working individuals towards the
employees with disabilty. Material and Methods: One-hundred thirty-seven individuals who were active
in business life participated in the study. Data were collected with a sociodemographic form and Attitude
Scale Towards Working with Disabilities (ASTWD). The higher average score of the ASTWD, the more
positive are the attitudes of integration of people with disability (PwD) to work life. Results: The mean age
of the participants was 33.78 ± 10.66 years. The mean score (MS) of ASTWD was 3.99±0.65. 115 of the
employees were out of health sector and 22 of them were in the sector. 51 employees worked with PwD,
86 people did not. While there were PwD in the family of 30 employees, there were not in 107 employees’
families. The MS of ASTWD of the health care workers were 4.24±0.72, the non-health sector were
3.94±0.62 (p<0.05). While the ASTWD score of employees working with PwD was 4.00±0.60, and nondisabled
was 3.99±0.67 (p>0.05). The MS of participants who have PwD family member was 4.43±0.50,
and none PwD family member was 3.87±0.83 (p<0.01). Discussion: According to the results of the study,
considering that the individuals interacting closely with the PwD have positive attitudes, it is thought that
increasing the awareness about the disabled would change the attitude of people without disabilities.
Amaç: Çalışmada çalışan bireylerin engelli çalışanların çalışmasına yönelik tutumların incelenmesi
amaçlandı. Gereç ve Yöntem: Çalışmaya aktif iş hayatında olan 137 birey katıldı. Veriler,
sosyodemogafik form ve Engellilerin Çalışmasına Yönelik Tutum Ölçeği (EÇYÖT) ile toplandı. EÇYÖT
ortalama puan ne kadar yüksekse ‘engellilerin çalışmasına yönelik tutumlar’ o kadar olumludur.
Sonuçlar: Çalışmaya katılan bireylerin yaş ortalaması 33,78±10,66 yıl idi. EÇYÖT ortalama puanları
3,99±0,65 idi. Çalışanların 115 i sağlık alan dışı, 22 si sağlık alanında çalışıyordu. 51 çalışan engellilerle
birlikte aynı iş yerinde çalışırken 86 bireyin çalıştığı kurumda engelli istihdamı yoktu. 30 çalışanın
ailesinde engelli birey varken 107 çalışanın ailesinde engelli birey yoktu. Sağlık çalışanlarının EÇYÖT
puan ortalaması 4,24±0,72 iken sağlık sektörü dışında çalışanların ortalaması 3,94±0,62 idi (p<0,05).
Engellilerle birlikte aynı işyerinde çalışanların EÇYÖT puan ortalaması 4,00±0,60 iken kurumunda engelli
çalışmayan bireylerin ortalaması 3,99±0,62 idi (p>0,05). Ailesinde engelli olanların EÇYÖT puan
ortalaması 4,43±0,50 ailesinde engelli birey bulunmayan bireylerin EÇYÖT puan ortalaması 3,87±0,83
idi (p<0,01). Tartışma: Çalışma sonuçlarına göre engelli bireylerle iç içe yaşayan bireylerin pozitif
tutumlarının olduğu göz önünde bulundurulduğunda engellilere yönelik farkındalığın artırılmasının çalışan
engelsiz bireylerin tutumlarını değiştireceği düşünülmektedir.
