9th INTERNATIONAL ICONTECH CONGRESS on Innovative Surveys in Positive Sciences, Baku, Azerbaycan, 1 Nisan - 02 Mayıs 2025, ss.388-395, (Tam Metin Bildiri)
The present study was executed to examine the effects of dietary supplementation of Moringa oleifera (MO) leaves powder and the Saccharomyces Cerevisiae yeast (SC) based prebiotic on the carcass characteristics and internal organs of broiler chickens. A total of 320 (Ross 308) mixed-sex one-day-old broiler chicks were acquired and randomly allocated into four treatment groups in the following manner: The control group (basal diet without MO and SC addition); MO group (basal diet+1.5% dried MO leaf powder; SC group (basal diet +1.5%SC); and the MO + SC (basal diet with 1.5% MO + 1.5% SC). Each treatment group was replicated four times with 20 chicks per replicate. The experiment was conducted for a period of 40 days. Results showed that treated groups had significantly (P<0.05) higher values for carcass characteristics compared to the control group. Significantly higher body weight, hot carcass, and cold carcass were observed in the treated groups of MO+SC, MO, and SC compared to the control group. Treatment groups also affected the weight of internal organs significantly (P<0.05). Significantly higher weight of liver and gizzard was observed in MO+SC and MO groups, while significantly higher weight of kidney and stomach was observed in the MO+SC group compared to MO, SC, and control groups. Significantly lower heart weight was recorded in SC than in MO+SC, MO, and the control group. Intestine weight was significantly higher in the control and SC groups. The weight of the Bursa of the Fabricius and pancreas was significantly higher in the treatment groups of MO+SC, MO, and SC compared to the control group. Overall, it could be concluded that Moringa oleifera (1.5%) and Saccharomyces cerevisiae (1.5%) alone or in combination can improve the carcass characteristics and weight of internal organs.
