Özet

Determination of the value of geological heritage has been an important subject area focused on by today's researchers. Therefore, this study uses MCDM (Multi-Criteria Decision Making) techniques to determine the various values of geoheritage elements with quantitative methods. For this purpose, four potential elements selected in the Aksu Stream Basin (Giresun, Turkey) were quantitatively evaluated with the integrated use of newly developed LBWA (Level-Based Weight Assessment) based ADAM (Axial Distance Based Aggregate Measurement) methods. According to the results, the most important criteria for the research area were C1 (Geologic history) in SV (Scientific Value), C11 (Ecological impact) in EcV (Ecological Value), C22 (History) in CV (Cultural Value), C31 (Viewpoints) in AV (Aesthetic Value), C42 (Attraction) in EV (Economic Value) and C53 (Fragility) in PU (Potential for use). Apart from this, it was determined that the four elements included in the analysis had high importance levels according to different factors. The results will contribute to future inventory studies and a comprehensive geoconservation plan for the examined geosites in Giresun province, thereby supporting the development of geotourism in the region. In addition, the proposed methodological approach can provide various insights to future researchers.
