Abstract

In this study, rectal specimens from 64 Turkish Van Cats were examined for motile Aeromonads. Three (4.68%) motile Aeromonads were isolated from the rectal specimens of 64 Turkish Van Cats. Two isolates were identifies as A. sobria and one as A. caviae. A. hydrophila was not found. Motile Aeromonads in the faeces of domestic cats may pose a public health hazard for humans who come into contact with such animals.
