Özet
In the present study, a leaf area estimation model was
developed for highbush blueberries (Vaccinium corymbosum L.) using linear measurements, such as lamina length
(L) and width (W), by stepwise regression analysis. Leaves
from 9 blueberry cultivars (‘Chandler’ 1, ‘Bluejay’ 2, ‘Jersey’ 3, ‘Bluegold’ 4, ‘Bluecrop’ 5, ‘Patriot’ 6, ‘Darrow’ 7,
‘Brigitta’ 8, and ‘Toro’ 9) were used to develop the model.
Numbers represent the cultivars (Cv). Regression analyses
of leaf area (LA) versus W-1 and WxL2
revealed several
models that could be used for estimating the area of individual highbush blueberry leaves. A linear model having
W-1 and WxL2
as the independent variables, LA = a + [b x
(1/W)] + [c x (W x L²)], gave the most accurate estimate, and
R2 values differing between 0.91-0.97 concerning the
highbush blueberry cultivars. Standard errors were found to
be significant at the p<0.001 level. Besides a separate model
for each cultivar, we also revealed a single model that
could be accurately used for studied highbush blueberry
cultivars as LA = (-0.5095)+[(0.6636xW2
)+ [(0.1801xL2
)]+
[(0.0033xCv2
)] with R2 = 0.9711.
