PREFACE
Unfortunately, the world is in the midst of a profound change. The moment
we realize this signifes a time frame in which we may already be too late. With its
escalating impacts, this transformation will not only afect nature, living beings,
and systems but will also infuence the entire uture. Disaster management
adopts a comprehensive system that begins with planning or events beore they
occur, extending to the moment o the event and its atermath. When climate
change is examined within this systematic ramework, it becomes evident that i
intervention is not possible beore the event, mitigating the damage and keeping
losses under control during and ater the event will be extremely challenging.
However, the pre-disaster risk reduction phase demonstrates that by reducing
the eects o the disaster, emergency levels can be minimized beore the event
occurs.
This editorial work explores how climate change, occurring on a global
scale, is evaluated from the perspective o disaster management. Additionally,
it delves into secondary disasters caused by climate change and the methods
employed to combat them. As we continue to grapple with the long-term impacts
o global climate change, the topics discussed in this work will requently be the
subject o conversation.
In the creation o this work, experts in the eld and experienced scientists
in disaster management have contributed. I express gratitude to the authors
and the working team or their contributions to this work, and I hope it proves
benecial to readers and the academic community.
