Cumulative voting is a voting method that gives the right to vote as much as the result of multiplying the number of votes with the number of members to be elected, and that completely sets their distribution free. Cumulative voting can be used at the general meeting of a joint stock company. It is not possible to use cumulative voting at executive meetings. Likewise “the number of votes owned” is not included in any calculation when voting is made in the executive meetings. The cumulative voting method has many benefits. These benefits can be listed as follows: cumulative voting ensures member diversity as well as being democratic, practical, economical and fair also serving to the corporate structure moreover it effects the relationship between the shareholders and the company positively
Birikimli oy, sahip olunan oy sayısının seçimi yapılacak üye sayısı ile çarpımı sonucunda elde edilen sonuç kadar oy kullanma hakkını veren ve bunların dağılımını tamamen özgür bırakan bir oy yöntemidir. Birikimli oy, anonim şirket genel kurul toplantısında kullanılabilir. Yönetim kurulu toplantılarında birikimli oy kullanılması mümkün değildir. Zira yönetim kurulunda oylama yapıldığında “sahip olunan oy sayısı” herhangi bir hesaplamada dikkate alınmaz. Birikimli oy yönteminin birçok yararı bulunmaktadır. Bu yararlar şöyle sıralanabilir: birikimli oy demokratik, pratik, ekonomik ve adil olması ayrıca kurumsal yapıya hizmet etmesinin yanı sıra üye çeşitliliğine imkân sağlamakta dahası pay sahipleri ve şirket arasındaki ilişkiyi olumlu yönde etkilemektedir.
