Trichodinid fauna of the toothcarp Aphanius danfordii (Boulenger, 1890) (Osteichthyes : Cyprinodontidae), an endemic fish from Sarikum Lagoon Lake in Sinop (Turkey)

Abstract

Ectoparasitic trichodinids of the toothcarp, Aphanius danfordii (Boulenger, 1890) were investigated during the period from May 2003 to April 2004 in fish collected from Sarikum Lagoon Lake at Sinop, Turkey. A total of three trichodinid species including Trichodina domerguei Wallengren, 1897, Trichodina modesta Lom, 1970 and Tripartiella macrosoma Basson and Van As, 1987 were identified on 423 fish specimens. Photomicrographs and morphometric data were presented for each species.
