In the title compound, C18H20N2O3, the azobenzene unit has a trans configuration, and the two benzene rings are inclined with respect to each other by 5.9 (2)degrees. Molecules are linked by O-H center dot center dot center dot O hydrogen bonds into a linear chain along [10 (1) over bar].
