“Yol Üstünde Kırk Eser” adını verdiğimiz bu çalışma, İslâm Düşüncesi’nin bileşenlerini oluşturan tefsir, fıkıh, hadis, kelâm, tasavvuf, felsefe, mantık, dil, tarih, siyer, siyaset, edebiyat, sanat, mimari gibi birçok farklı alanda orta- ya konmuş eserler seçkisinden oluşmaktadır. İçerik oluşturulurken özellikle farklı alanlarda araştırma yapanların sıklıkla başvurduğu ya da bir şekilde atıfta bulunduğu temel kaynak ya da özgün eserlerin seçimine dikkat edilmiştir. Başka bir deyişle yolda olanların en çok uğradığı mekanların seçildiğini söylemek mümkündür. Bunun yanında bölümler eser sahip- lerinin ölüm tarihleri dikkate alınarak sıralanmıştır ve her şahıstan sadece bir eser seçilmiştir.
This work, which we have titled "Forty Works on the Road," consists of a selection of works produced in many different fields that constitute the components of Islamic thought, such as exegesis, jurisprudence, hadith, theology, Sufism, philosophy, logic, language, history, biography of the Prophet, politics, literature, art, and architecture. In creating the content, particular attention was paid to selecting fundamental sources or original works that researchers in different fields frequently consult or cite. In other words, it can be said that the places most frequently visited by those on the road were chosen. Furthermore, the sections are arranged according to the death dates of the authors, and only one work has been selected from each author.
