Özet

Abstract: Until 30 years ago, it was possible to hear the voices of different schools of thought on controversial issues in science education, albeit in a limited way, such as the constructivism debate between Ernst von Glasersfeld and Wallis Suchting (please see Matthews, 1998). Unfortunately, the number of similar platforms has steadily decreased, and sensitive issues cannot be freely discussed. Indeed, when the subject is Evolution or Evolution Education (EE), this can become much more troublesome. This paper focuses on the sources of pedagogical proposals in recent EE studies, the transformational properties of the explanatory theories used, and the quality and clarity of the research arguments. It also questions whether the research proposals, claims and explanatory theories are a new approach. In doing so, in order to support the theoretical framework of the paper, particular attention is drawn to argumentation breakdown, the issue of appeal to an authority figure, obscurantism, and ethical considerations.
