Biography

Aysenur Buyukgoze-Kavas is currently a Professor at Ondokuz Mayıs University in Türkiye. She completed part of her Ph.D. studies in Counseling Psychology at the University of Florida between 2009 and 2010 with the support of a government scholarship, and earned her Ph.D. in Psychological Counseling and Guidance from Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Türkiye, in 2011. For her doctoral research, Dr. Buyukgoze-Kavas received awards from the European Society for Vocational Designing and Career Counseling (ESVDC) and the Turkish Psychological Counseling and Guidance Association (TPCGA). She has published more than 70 articles and book chapters and has contributed to numerous research projects as a principal investigator, researcher, and consultant. These projects have been funded by UNICEF, the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye (TUBITAK), the Ministry of National Education, Middle East Technical University, and Ondokuz Mayıs University. Between 2018 and 2019, she worked as a postdoctoral researcher in Counseling Psychology at the University of Florida. In recognition of her contributions to vocational psychology, she was honored with the TUBITAK Incentive Award in 2019—one of the most prestigious scientific awards in Türkiye—which was presented to her by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Dr. Buyukgoze-Kavas serves on the editorial boards of the Journal of Vocational Behavior, the Journal of Career Assessment, the Career Development Quarterly, and the Australian Journal of Career Development. She currently serves as a management committee member of the European COST Action CA23112 (Critical Perspectives on Career and Career Guidance). Her research interests primarily focus on the intersection of work and well-being, the school-to-work transition, career assessment and interventions, and cross-cultural studies on these topics.
