Biography

In Artvin/ Hopa, graduated from Ondokuz Mayis University, Faculty of Education, Department of Art and Crafts Education, with the workshop experience provided by Fikri CANTÜRK in 1984. Istanbul, Mimar Sinan University Institute of Social Sciences, Faculty of Fine Arts, Painting Department; he completed the master’s degree under the supervision of Prof. Dinçer ERİMEZ in 1986 and in 1992, the Proficiency in Art program under the supervision of Assoc. Gökhan Anlağan.

During his education, he worked as an animation artist in graphic agencies and in Orhan Büyükdoğan's workshop producing the cartoons for TRT and Ministry of Culture. Between the years of 1991-2001, he worked as an instructor in the Painting Department of the Fine Arts Education of the Faculty of Education at Anadolu University. In 2001, he was appointed as a lecturer to the Fine Arts Education Department of the Faculty of Education at Ondokuz Mayıs University. He became Associate Professor in 2006 and Professor in 2017. The artist working in the field of painting, graphics, animation and sculpture still works as a Professor at the same institution. Art Critic Kaya Özsezgin, commented on the artist Halil Türker's paintings in the book of Turkish Plastic Artists, Encyclopedic Dictionary, a Yapı Kredi Publication (1999): “He undertook an understanding of the abstract space problem in his painting, especially with studies developed within the framework of the airbrush technique… his abstract paintings of geometric form elements resulting from the composition of industrial aesthetics carry the extensions of the “Neo-Geo” humour.”

In December 1993, he was awarded Grand Prix International D'Arts Plasteques da la Ville de Nice, France, "Regional Council Award" (Prix du Conseil Regional), opened nine personal exhibitions, and participated in many international and national competitions and group exhibitions.
