Prof. Mehmet Çebi

Born in 1973 in Samsun, he completed his primary and secondary education in the same city. He received his undergraduate degree in 1996 from the Department of Physical Education and Sports at the Faculty of Education, Ondokuz Mayıs University. He completed his master’s degree in 1999 and his PhD in 2013 in the Department of Physical Education and Sports at the Institute of Health Sciences of the same university, thereby earning the title of Doctor of Science in the field of Physical Education and Sports.

Between 1996 and 1999, he served as a Research Assistant at the Institute of Health Sciences, Ondokuz Mayıs University. From 1999 to 2006, he worked as a Lecturer at the Department of Physical Education and Sports Teaching, Faculty of Education, Ondokuz Mayıs University (Amasya). Between 2006 and 2010, he continued as a Lecturer at the Faculty of Education, Amasya University. During 2010–2011, he served as a Lecturer in the Department of Therapy and Rehabilitation at Havza Vocational School, Ondokuz Mayıs University, and between 2011 and 2013, he worked as a Lecturer in the Coaching Education Department at Yaşar Doğu School of Physical Education and Sports of the same university. From 2013 to 2019, he held the position of Assistant Professor in the Department of Recreation at the Faculty of Yaşar Doğu Sports Sciences, Ondokuz Mayıs University. In 2019, he was awarded the title of Associate Professor in the field of Sports Sciences by the Interuniversity Board of Türkiye and continued in this role until 2024. In 2024, he was appointed as a Full Professor in the Department of Recreation at the same faculty.

He has also held several administrative positions, including Vice Head of the Department of Physical Education and Sports Teaching at the Faculty of Education, Ondokuz Mayıs University (2002–2007); Vice Head of the Department of Physical Education and Sports at the Faculty of Education, Amasya University (2007–2008); Vice Head of the Coaching Education Department at Yaşar Doğu School of Physical Education and Sports, Ondokuz Mayıs University (2011–2012); Member of the Faculty Board (2013–2017) and Head of the Department of Recreation (2013–2017) at the Faculty of Yaşar Doğu Sports Sciences, Ondokuz Mayıs University; and Assistant Provincial Coordinator at the Samsun Examination Services Coordination Unit of Anadolu University (2013–2016). Since 2020, he has been serving as the Provincial Coordinator of Examination Services for Anadolu University in Samsun, the Provincial Examination Coordinator for the Open and Distance Education Faculty of Istanbul University, and the Provincial Examination Coordinator for the Highway Transportation Application and Research Center of Gazi University.

At present, he continues to serve as the Head of the Department/Division of Recreation (2023–present), a Member of the Faculty Board of the Recreation Department (2023–present), and as Vice Dean (2026–present) at the Faculty of Yaşar Doğu Sports Sciences, Ondokuz Mayıs University.

He has authored numerous national and international publications, conference papers, books, and book chapters in the field of Sports Sciences. He is proficient in English, married, and has two children.
