Prof. Murat Terzi

Biography

Born in 1976 in Trabzon, he completed his primary and secondary education at Samsun İlkadım Primary School and his high school education at Samsun 19 Mayıs High School. He started his higher education at Samsun Ondokuz Mayıs University Faculty of Medicine in October 1994. He completed his medical school education in Samsun Ondokuz Mayıs University Faculty of Medicine in 2000, neurology specialty education in 2005 and Clinical Neurosciences doctorate education in 2022. On March 14, 2006, he was promoted to Assistant Professor, on March 14, 2012 to Associate Professor and in March 2018 to Professor. He served his military service at Ankara Gülhane Military Medical Academy between 2007-2008. Since March 14, 2006, he has been a faculty member at Ondokuz Mayıs University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Neurology and since June 2018, he has been working as the Head of the Department of Neurology. He took part in different boards and commissions of our university and Faculty of Medicine in the fields of education, R&D and project development. Between 2017 and 2020, he served as Ondokuz Mayıs University Rector consultant and Clinical Research Ethics Committee member. Since 2019, he has been the Dean of Ondokuz Mayıs University Faculty of Health Sciences, since 2016 he has been the head of the Department of Neurosciences at Ondokuz Mayıs University Graduate Institute, since 2014 he has been responsible for the Faculty of Medicine Clinical Research Unit and University Education Commission membership, since 2017 he has been responsible for Ondokuz Mayıs University Neuroimmunology Laboratory. Since 2020, he has been on the board of directors of the Turkish Neurology Association and continues to serve as vice president. He is a member of Turkey Multiple Sclerosis Study Group, Turkey Neuroimmunology Study Group, Turkey Environmental Health and Occupational Diseases in Neurology Study Group and Turkey Quality of Life Study Group. He has worked as a primary investigator in more than 50 international projects. He has been involved in many domestic and international articles, book authorship and book chapter authorship, and papers presented in national and international congresses and scientific meetings, especially in the fields of multiple sclerosis, neuroimmunology, artificial intelligence and neuroscience, and his h index is 22. He worked as a consultant in 4 specialty theses completed in the field of neurology, 20 master's and 9 doctoral theses completed in the field of neurosciences. He is married and has two children.
