Prof. Önder Kabadayı

Biography

I obtained Bsc in Physics Education and  Master’s degree in Nuclear Physics from OMU  and Subsequently while pursuing Ph.D. in Nuclear Physics from OMU, I accepted a research assistant position with the Department of Physics at University of Florida-USA. I performed research at the Quantum Theory Project(QTP) of the University of Florida under the supervision of Prof J.Sabin of UF as a research assistant.  After completing PhD, I participated in education and research studies at various international institutions including   The Institute for Transuranium Elements (ITU),  a nuclear research institute in Karlsruhe, Germany and at ETH-Zurich Laboratory of Ion Beam Physics Zurich, Switzerland. While working as a research assistant at the physics department at OMU, I accepted a position with the Department of Physics st KTU as an assistant professor. I performed research on ion beam physics, interaction of radiation with matter and radiation detection and measurement fields and published papers in the internationally recognized journals in the field. I worked as a  faculty member in the Department of Physics at GU, before joining the Department of Physics Education at OMU. I became a Docent in nuclear physics from UAK and became Professor while working at the Physics Education department of OMU. I have also conducted administrative duties including Dean of Graduate School of Science, Graduate School of Education, Department head and Associate Dean.
