Esra KOCAMAN DİVANOĞLU was born on September 19, 1995, in Istanbul, Turkey.
In 2015, she graduated as the top student from the Architectural Restoration Program at Yıldız Technical University, Vocational School of National Palaces and Historical Buildings. She completed her internship at the Restoration Workshop of Movable Cultural Assets within the Turkish Presidency of National Palaces. Additionally, she worked as a restorer and traditional ornamentation artist (kalemkâr) in mosques, tombs, and museums.
In 2019, she graduated as the top of her class and with high honors from the Department of Traditional Turkish Arts, Carpet, Rug and Old Fabric Pattern Major at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University (MSGSÜ). As a result of her achievements, she was awarded the 26th Sakıp Sabancı Art Award.
In the same year, she began her master’s degree in the same department and successfully completed her graduate studies in Traditional Turkish Arts, specializing in Carpet, Rug, and Old Fabric Patterns at MSGSÜ.
In 2024, she started a Proficiency in Art (equivalent to PhD) program in Traditional Turkish Arts, in the Carpet, Rug, and Traditional Fabric Patterns Major at MSGSÜ, where she is currently continuing her academic studies.
She began her professional career as a carpet designer in companies producing machine-made carpets in Gaziantep. She later continued her work in Istanbul, designing digitally printed rugs. She has also provided carpet design and consultancy services to companies operating in the United States and the United Kingdom.
In 2024, she began her academic career as a lecturer at Ondokuz Mayıs University, Ladik Vocational School.
