Biography
Esra KOCAMAN was born on September 19, 1995, in Istanbul.
In 2015, she graduated with honors from the Department of Architectural Restoration at YTU National Palaces and Historical Buildings Vocational School. She completed her long-term internship at the workshops of the National Palaces of the Republic of Turkey. She has worked as a restorer and a draftsman in mosques, tombs, and museums.In 2019, she graduated as the top student and with high honors from the Traditional Turkish Arts Department, Carpet, Kilim, and Ancient Fabric Patterns Main Art Branch of MSGSU. As a result of these achievements, she was awarded the 26th Sakıp Sabancı Art Award.
In 2019, she started her master's degree in the Traditional Turkish Arts Program, Carpet, Kilim, and Ancient Fabric Patterns Main Art Branch at MSGSU, and successfully completed it in 2023 with her thesis titled "The Use of Traditional Tattoo Motifs of Sanlıurfa in Digital Printed Floormat Designs."
In 2024, she began her proficiency in art education in the Traditional Turkish Arts Program, Carpet, Kilim, and Traditional Fabric Patterns Main Art Branch at MSGSU, and she is currently continuing her education.
She started her professional career as a carpet designer in companies producing machine-made carpets in Gaziantep and continued it by designing digital printed carpets in Istanbul.
The artist, who continues her academic career, has designed carpets for companies operating in America and England.
